THE URBAN SETTING

Guelph Youth Music Centre: UAP Headquarters

1/1

Our home is the incredible and versatile Guelph Youth Music Centre. Located in one of the hippest downtown centres in North America, the GYMC (pronounced JIM-SEE by those in the know) is attached to the inspirational stone remnants of the Goldie Mill ruins beside the lush Goldie Mill park, all of which is situated on the Speed River. It is a short walk to cafes, shops, galleries, studios, the River Run Centre, the library, City Hall, and the Quebec Street Mall. From here, our students can and will explore the thriving arts community that exists in this cool university town. Surrounded on all sides by trails, streets, and railways, GYMC is totally accessible by all means of transport and is naturally inspiring. It was built almost entirely by volunteer means and is a testament to Guelph's community spirit. Inside are sunwashed foyers, a beautiful performance theatre, a bright dance studio and many rooms used for music education, dance instruction, and more. Join MADE and make the GYMC your home away from home for a semester.
